In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” “our,” and “OPD” refer to Oyster Point Dragons. Oyster Point Dragons provides you with access to, and use of, this website, www.oysterpointdragons.org, on the condition that you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. OPD may revise and update this Privacy Policy from time to time without notice, which will become effective immediately. We use commercially reasonable means and efforts to protect personal information. We cannot guarantee absolute security given that we rely on transmission over the Internet and electronic storage.

For certain functions of this website, including but not limited to, requests for waivers, race and team activities participation, and other surveys, Oyster Point Dragons may require you to voluntarily provide and/or disclose certain information such as:

  • Age, weight, and any disability or conditions that the team needs to be aware of, for medical and safety reasons;
  • Emergency contact information: name, address, phone number, and email address;
  • Minors’ information, which will be collected upon express consent from the parent or guardian;
  • Information entered in any posting or comments within the website or surveys;
  • Information you provide as feedback or for requesting support or service;
  • Information you send to us via email.

Additional information may be collected, should OPD require members to create a user account.

Information Collected via Technology
Oyster Point Dragons currently uses web hosting services, content management services, and web builder services from HostGator, WordPress, and Themify, respectively (collectively, the hosts). Therefore, we have no control over any logs, cookies, IP address, web browser, or operating system information that may automatically be collected by the hosts. You have the option of disabling or not accepting cookies by changing the preferences in your web browser. OPD does not collect any of that information for its use. We utilize certain G Suite applications, integrated services, and add-ons provided by Google, Inc. and business affiliates. To recognize its sponsors and supporters, OPD may provide information on, and/or links to, their respective websites. Use of Information Collected
In general, the personal information collected from you is used primarily for communication of information and updates on team activities, and for boat line-ups. Emergency contact information is collected as a requirement of the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) waivers. Such information will only be used in cases of emergency.

In connection with feedback and comments, we may create anonymous information records from personal information by excluding certain specific information that will de-identify such information. We may use and disclose anonymous information at our discretion and without restriction.

Disclosure to Third Parties
Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not disclose your personal information to, or share it with, third parties, unless you ask or authorize us to do so.

For fundraising purposes, we may share certain personal information with third parties to compile donor databases or to develop outreach programs on behalf of OPD. We may also send you certain communication on programs or services provided by our sponsors and supporters.

In the event of a merger, dissolution, insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, personal information may be transferred as a business asset.

In order to comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants; enforce any agreement, e.g., insurance contracts; or protect and defend certain rights, we may, and you authorize us to, disclose certain personal information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary.

Affiliates and Membership Organizations
OPD does not currently have any affiliate. From year to year, OPD may become a member of certain other organizations for purposes of fulfilling its mission and vision. Upon request by a California customer, OPD will provide the categories of personal information and a list of third parties to whom personal information was disclosed in the preceding calendar year. Your Choices
Oyster Point Dragons may send communication offering you with opportunities to participate in events, surveys, or notify you about services offered by outside race organizers, sponsors or supporters. These emails will be sent by Oyster Point Dragons and not by these third party organizations unless they are requests for race waivers. You may choose to opt out from receiving such communication by following the ‘Unsubscribe Instructions’ provided in the communication.

You may not opt out from communication informing you of changes to our Terms and Conditions of Use and to our Privacy Policy.

OPD does not engage in postal mailings of catalogs or promotions. If we do so in the future, we will inform you of your “Opt Out” option and process.

Request to Change Your Personal Information
If you would like to review, edit, correct, update or change any of your personal information, you can send your request to Info@oysterpointdragons.org.

Shared Media
Any personal information such as feedback or comments posted by you in shared areas such as message boards or social networking or social media apps, will be displayed to anyone accessing these types of media. OPD has no responsibility or liability regarding other users’ use or disclosure thereof.
