2021 Season

Welcome to our 2021 Season, albeit limited for now. However, as the vaccination program intensifies in the coming months, we will probably ramp up our activities but stay within federal, state, and county guidelines.

With the stay-at-home order lifted in California for now, we can paddle again but at a limited capacity. Dragon boating will still need “large group gathering” clearance from the San Mateo County Health Department.

Waiver & Privacy Policy:

Before engaging in any OPD activity, please take a moment to fill out and submit your annual waiver here. Your waiver response will be emailed to the email address you will provide on the waiver. Check your spam folder if you don’t see the email, and if it’s there, please flag it as “Not spam.” Please take a moment to also review OPD’s privacy policy.

Paddling Out – Kayaks & OCs:

Starting on Saturday, February 13, 2021, we can enjoy kayaks and outrigger canoes while maintaining a safe distance. There will be two paddling sessions on Saturdays and Sundays. Each session allows up to a maximum of three families to occupy the 11 available seats. Sessions will be cancelled if we have strong winds. You will be notified if sessions are cancelled. Private watercrafts are welcome in addition to OPD vessels and do not need to be part of OPD’s sign-up process. Starting on Saturday, February 13, 2021:

  • Session 1 – from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

  • Session 2 – from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Signing Up:

Please consult the February notification for the sign-up process.

Health Safety:

The sign-up sheet contains specific safety measures. Please take a moment to review and understand them to ensure everyone’s safety. In addition, OPD’s Safety Manual contains general Covid-19 guidelines.

Paddler Fees:

Please see our February notification for important information.

Boat Storage Platform:

We are exploring the purchase of a floating platform from overseas in order to help minimize boat cleaning. So, your fees and/or donations are very important to OPD. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, all funds are used directly for the program. We want to thank all those who have donated and/or helped clean the boats during the past dormant year. Please use this PayPal Giving Fund credit card link if you can donate. The tax letter will be issued by PayPal Giving Fund on behalf of OPD. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent of your tax situation. Thank you for your support.

Distribution List:

If you no longer wish to receive regular notifications from OPD, please send us an email at Info@oysterpointdragons.org with “Unsubscribe” in the Subject field. We hope to see you in future seasons.
